Making a Bed
1. Why do we need to know how to make an unoccupied and occupied bed?
-Yes, for us to be able to know how to make the patient comfortable and at the same time accelerate his/her recovery.
2. How does making a bed help in the fast recovery of our patient?
-It helps the patient recover faster because it is where the patient will be spending most if his time while sick and if it is a comfortable place to stay, it will be easier for him to recover.
3. As a good home nurse, how will you be able to render your services to your patient through bed making?
-I will render by making the bed as clean and as comfortable as possible.
Bathing the Patient
1. Why do you need to give a bath to the patient?
-So that he will be clean, be refreshed and be able to relax. So that other viruses and bacterias will be washed out of their bodies.
2. What are the materials needed for bed bath or sponge bath?
-2 big towels, 2 small towels, rubber sheet, a bin of warm water, soap and light blanket.
3. What’s the importance of using a urinal or bedpan?
-So that the patient's waste won't be all over the bed and would cause more illnesses and diseases.
4. What do you mean by back rub?
-When you massage the patient in order for him to relax.
5. How do you differentiate cold compress from hot compress?
- cold compress is used for inflammations and to relieve pain while the hot compress relieves pain and congestion.
